Focus is one of the must important aspects of the human condition; where our focus lays there our heart and are attitude will be also.  In the middle of a problem it is so tempting to focus on everything that is going wrong or all the obstacles you have to cross rather that thinking of the end result.  In our new movie Escape C. Thomas Howell finds himself imprisoned in a bamboo cage surrounded by armed guards.  In the midst of this hell Howell finds himself becoming more and more discouraged by his circumstances rather that focusing on what is more important, escape.

Keeping our focus on our problems rather than on God’s love shields us from receiving his peace and love that transcends all understanding.  Where as, if we focus our hearts on the presence of God, his peace will shield us from the despair of our own problems.  Next time you find yourself in difficult times take thirty seconds to close your eyes and whisper His name and receive his peace.
