The Bible is a source of wisdom and encouragement, but it helps to know where to find the uplifting words that apply to life’s hardships. Below are a few inspirational Bible verses to help you through whatever trouble follows you:
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
The 23rd Psalm provides encouragement on our darkest days, and it’s especially comforting to hear that even when we are walking through the darkest valley, God is with us and evil can’t touch us.
When we seek the Lord, we can find His will and live in the midst of His love. It is through seeking that we find a loving God who is always willing to sustain us. This is the meaning of Psalm 23. Verse 4 provides comfort even in the midst of the storm, and it’s something that Spurgeon also emphasized in his own writings on Psalm 23.

Life can seem like one battle after another, but it helps to remember that we were made to be more than conquerors through Christ. When it feels like life is a constant struggle, find peace knowing that Christ is there with you. Through His love, strength and mercy, we are able to lean on Him in times of strife. He welcomes us with open arms and will gladly carry our crosses with us.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
When the problems of the world overwhelm you, it’s such a gift to know that Jesus has overcome this world. There is no problem you face that He doesn’t know or fails to understand.
Sometimes, we question, "why me, God?" But let us remember that God did not even spare His Son from having struggles in this world. Jesus knew temptation, persecution, rejection and much more. We can unite our struggles with Christ when we are at a loss for understanding the reasoning behind our struggles.
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Facing a hard day or a tough time in life was nothing new to those in the Bible. Through the profit Isaiah, God tells His people that He will uplift them with His righteous Hand. Knowing that He will do the same for you brings comfort on the cloudiest of days.
When we're struggling, it can be hard to find hope during those dark days. This Bible verse from the book of Isaiah promises us that God will strengthen us and help us during those days. Leaning on Him during those hard times is key to us being able to get through them.
In "Moonrise," country singer and father Will Brown has been facing a hard time since his wife passed two years ago. He's strained the relationships with his family but also with God. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
In this verse, Paul tells the Philippians not to be anxious about anything. It’s a such an affirmative statement that there can be no argument about it. Don’t worry about anything.
Not worrying about anything can be easy to say but definitely hard to practice. Kelsey in "Sun Moon" had to learn how not to worry about the future and let God take control of her path. Learning to take that leap of faith isn't easy, but by praying to God rather than running from him, she learns how to trust Him in all things. Stream "Sun Moon" exclusively on Great American Pure Flix.
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
Finding reasons for our struggles might help us understand them, but if you can’t find sense in them, don’t worry. Paul says that all things – even bad things – work together for the good of those who serve the Lord. Your struggles have a bigger purpose; trust God to find how the puzzle pieces fit.
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Maybe the words of Christ from Matthew offer the most comfort – “I am with you always.” There are few in this life who can offer such a guarantee, especially during times of strife. His promise to be with us always means you never have to face the valleys alone.
Jason in "Legacy Peak" knew that God would be with him whenever he called upon Him. “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?”
