Since we've become a part of the Great American Media family, you may have noticed a few new faces in our movies and shows. We wanted to take some time to introduce you to these new faces - who they are and what they do both on and off screen.
If you love our Christmas movies, you've probably seen Christopher Russell, who is also starring in the upcoming Christmas movie, "A Vintage Christmas" (working title) with Merritt Patterson.
In "A Vintage Christmas," Tessa (Patterson) is a dedicated historian and preservationist in her hometown of Oak Creek, an old-fashioned and passionate protector of all things nostalgic. Sparks fly when a business developer, Noah (Russell) arrives in Oak Creek with plans to tear down an abandoned Post Office and replace it with a sleek, modern office complex.
We'll give you a full list of our movies with Russell in a minute, but first, let's learn more about who Russell is outside of his movie roles!
Family Life
Russell is married to model Tailor James. The couple has been together for nearly two decades. “14 years later and my heart still skips a beat when you walk in the room,” Russell posted on his Instagram in 2018. They have been together since 2004.
The pair live in British Columbia and have two children, an 11-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son. Russell enjoys spending time with his family, as you can see from his social media.
Russell grew up in Toronto, Ontario, where his first taste of acting was as a member of his drama club in preschool. His first role was in preschool in the play, "The Nativity Story."
Love for the Christmas Season
If you couldn't tell from his Christmas movies, Russell loves the Christmas season!
"One of my favorite Christmas memories from my childhood, every year on Christmas Eve, my parents, brother, sister and I would get in the car and go look at Christmas lights," Russell said on the set of "A Dash of Christmas." "I've started doing that with my family as well... driving around trying to find the best street with the best lights. My kids get a kick out of it, too."
Russell's favorite thing about Christmas is listening to the radio play Christmas music nonstop, especially the nostalgic Christmas songs from his childhood. His favorite Christmas song? "All I Want for Christmas is You" by Mariah Carey.
Another childhood tradition he carries on with his own children is Christmas Eve.
"I have quite a few favorite family traditions at Christmastime, but one that stands out is letting the kids open one present on Christmas Eve. There's something exciting about not knowing which one to pick and what you might get, to have that one little surprise before getting into the main event the next day is always a fun little treat for the kids," Russell said.
