Since we've become a part of the Great American Media family, you may have noticed a few new faces in our movies and shows. We wanted to take some time to introduce you to these new faces - who they are and what they do both on and off screen.
Jonathan Stoddard stars alongside Ashley Bratcher in the newest Original faith drama, “Finding Faith,” as Billy, her estranged husband and country singer. Stoddard was able to personally connect to his character for a multitude of reasons.
“One of the really cool things about this script was that it parallels a recent relationship dynamic that I just got out of. When I read it, it hit me really hard and I just knew, as soon as I read it, I was like, ‘okay, okay, there's this, this is bigger than just another script. This is bigger than just another opportunity. This is, this is where I'm meant to be and this is what I'm supposed to do.’ So I welcomed it with open arms,” Stoddard said on set of the movie.
This wasn’t the first faith-based project Stoddard has been involved in. He also did a faith-based miniseries called “The Wanderer” that you can also find right here on Great American Pure Flix.
“It was a great project where I played this misguided jewelry salesman who was on the verge of his ambition was kind of clouding some of his judgment and then, problems at home, things falling apart, and him finding his way back to his wife.”
Here are more facts about Jonathan Stoddard:
- He’s a 2004 graduate of the prestigious culinary institute, Le Cordon Bleu. He worked at Harry’s Bar in Venice, Italy and helped develop menus and restaurants in his hometown of Marin County, California.
- He does indeed play the guitar and the piano. Stoddard took piano lessons as a child before moving to the guitar at age 13. He still enjoys producing music.
- His acting career started after he left the culinary world. After leaving Venice, Stoddard moved to LA to pursue acting. Working diligently, he moved up the ranks from extra to background actor to leading roles.
- Photography is also one of his passions. Stoddard owns a professional photography company, which he started to keep connected in the entertainment industry.
- He is one of four siblings. Stoddard has two older sisters and an older brother that “mean the world to [him.]”
