The flowers are blooming, the days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer - spring is here! That means there’s more opportunities to spend more time outdoors! What a better way to celebrate the spring season than by participating in some fun activities for you and the whole family.
Here are some fun spring activities to enjoy with your family, inspired by our movies and shows right here on Great American Pure Flix.

Remember the fond memories of your childhood by getting some new skates (or renting!) and teaching your children how to rollerblade! Claire and Devan rent skates in “Stepping into Love” to have fun and get their mind off work for a couple of hours.
Teaching your children a new skill like rollerblading will help their reflexes, get them outside and get their eyes off screens, and keep them active! It’s a great activity to do altogether as the weather warms up! (And also a great mode of transportation)!
Olivia Golden in “Divine Influencer” purges her closet of old clothes she no longer wears and takes them to a consignment store. Spring cleaning your closet - or your kids’ closet - is a great way to discard material items you no longer need (or fit!) and can kickstart the desire to clean the entire house top to bottom!
Cleaning out our closets also exhibits our control over being too attached to materialistic items. Think of Colossians 3:1-3 (NIV) that tells us to not “set our minds” on “earthly things” but on “things above, where Christ is.”

Take inspiration from “Legacy Peak” - spend a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and go enjoy the great outdoors as a family this spring! (We recommend just avoiding the wolves just like Jason, Sam and Ben did in the movie, too!)
Camping is a great way to teach your kids about adjusting to not having the comforts of home all the time. They’ll learn what it means to be happy with what you have and to adapt to different environments.
Take inspiration from Luke in “Seven Days of Utopia” and head to the links for a nice round of golf, or channel Scott in “Nothing is Impossible” and shoot some hoops, or Coach Luke in “Running the Bases” and grab your baseball glove for a game of catch!
The warmer weather in the spring gives us a great opportunity to spend more time outside and get active. Playing spring sports as a family is an activity that not only gets you outside, but inspires a healthy bit of competition and teamwork!

Be inspired by Hannah’s green thumb in “Just in Time” by beginning your own garden this spring! Designate a small area of your backyard to either put a garden box or reserve for some good soil and plants. Hit your nearest home improvement store with your kids and let them choose what plants or flowers they want to grow!
Children will enjoy learning about how plants grow and learn the discipline it takes to water them and care for them daily. Plus, they’ll feel a sense of accomplishment and excitement when flowers finally bloom or vegetables start popping up!
There’s no time like the spring to have a great, beautiful outdoor picnic! Pack a basket like Lainie and Drew in “A Harvest Homecoming” and choose the best park or lake in your neighborhood and have a picnic! It’s a great way to not only get outside in the warmer weather but a chance to spend quality time as a family.

The spring is also a great time to pick up something new, like learning a new instrument! Take your love for music to the next level, like Violet did in “Harmony from the Heart.” Whether it’s guitar, piano or something more niche like viola, learning a new skill as a family is a great way to bond and spend time together!
There’s nothing like bonding time out on the water! Grab your fishing gear and spend some quality time like father and son Jeremiah and Noah Bryan do in “God’s Country Song.” Being surrounded by nature as you wait patiently to catch a fish will definitely be good for the soul!
Feel like you’re flying like Victoria and Billy in “Finding Faith” with an exciting horseback ride! Horseback riding is not only a fun activity for the whole family, but a great way to explore nature, get out of your comfort zone and try something new!
That’s a wrap for our list of spring activities to do with the whole family. Prep for summer with our Summer Camp Guide that has movie devotionals and fun activities for you and your family all summer long.
