The film stars Trevor Donovan and Jessica Lowndes who are reuniting on screen for the first time in 10 years.
“Reuniting with my ‘90210’ co-star, Jessica Lowndes, has been great,” Donovan posted on social media over the summer. “It's been a fun trip down memory lane, and I really think you're going to love [this film]!”
In “A Harvest Homecoming,” teacher Drew Clark (Donovan) accepts a temporary substitute job in his old hometown of Chestnut Hollow, Texas, where he meets Aiden, the proverbial new kid at school, desperate for a caring friend. While he would rather have taken a job anywhere else, Drew reconsiders Chestnut Hollow when he meets Lainie Abbott (Lowndes), the new manager of his parents’ massive apple orchard and cider mill business, and more importantly, Aiden’s mom.
“This movie is very cute and funny and heartwarming. There’s a lot of apples, orchards, romance,” Lowndes explained in a recent interview. “On top of it, we get to hear each other sing.”
Lowndes has been singing on screen for years, including her song “11:11” from the movie “Harmony From The Heart,” which she wrote for Great American Family. But “A Harvest Homecoming” is a chance for Donovan to shine. He sings “Fields of Gold,” an original song he wrote for the movie.
