It’s the most wonderful time of the year! I am beyond excited to kick off the fourth annual Great American Christmas campaign with Great American Media. For me, Christmas is so much more than a season—it’s a celebration of faith, family, and joy. I’ve always said that Christmas is about bringing people together and making lasting memories, and this year’s theme, “Christmas as it’s meant to be,” reflects exactly that.
When I think about “Christmas as it’s meant to be,” it’s all about slowing down and remembering the true reason for the season. In the rush of gift buying and party planning, it’s easy to lose sight of what’s most important—hope, love, and faith. For me, it’s about time spent with family, cherished traditions, and celebrating the birth of our Savior. It’s those simple moments—whether we’re watching a classic Christmas movie together or baking cookies—that make Christmas feel magical.
This year, we're excited to give you a Great American Christmas with even more meaningful and quality stories than we’ve ever had before. I don’t know about you, but I’m a sucker for a happy ending; for a character that finds a moment of self-discovery that changes the direction of their life. And for a heroine that learns intentionality, for a story that celebrates and values family, for a tale about two people simply falling in love.
I was blessed this year to make not only one, but two Christmas movies! I can’t wait for you to meet both of these characters and go alongside their journey with them.
In “A Christmas Less Traveled,” I play Desi, a small business owner who discovers a unique and unexpected way to reconnect with her dad. Christmas is a time to reflect upon cherished memories with those you love most, both past and present, and I love how Desi’s journey leads her to a surprising encounter and self-discovery.
"A Christmas Less Traveled" premieres on Great American Family November 16 at 8pm est and starts streaming on Pure Flix November 14.

In “Home Sweet Christmas,” I got to reunite with and co-star alongside my friend, Cameron Mathison. I play Sophie Marlow, a woman who is called home after her great uncle’s passing to help settle his estate. Heading back to her hometown, she reunites with a childhood friend, Sam Stackhouse, where the memories and chemistry is instant. Can you guess where this is going? I couldn’t be more excited by this story’s naturally happy ending and hope you too will love this classic holiday rom-com.
"Home Sweet Christmas" premieres on Great American Family December 1 at 8pm est and starts streaming on Pure Flix December 5.
Additionally, we have some fun-tastic new Christmas movies with wonderful and talented actors that I am so grateful to know and work with including Mario and Courtney Lopez, Alexa and Carlos PenaVega, Danica McKellar, Trevor Donovan and many more. Our Christmas lineup this year has more new original movies than ever before, and I cannot wait for you to watch every single one!
But the excitement doesn’t stop there! For the first time ever, this year you get the chance to experience a Great American Christmas in a totally new way with the Great American Family Christmas Festival in Belmont Park, New York.
If you love all things Christmas like I do, you’re going to adore this festival. From twinkling lights to festive treats and special holiday performances, it’s the perfect place to experience the wonder of the season firsthand with friends and family. I’ll be there too, so I hope to see you in person for some holiday cheer!
Running each weekend from November 22 through December 29, this immersive experience gives you the rare chance to meet and greet your favorite Great American talent, feature screenings of our Christmas movies, autograph signings, ice-skating, crafting, holiday shopping for the whole family and much more!
This year’s campaign is about celebrating Christmas in a way that feels pure, meaningful, and true to what the holiday is all about. Whether you’re tuning into the new movie premieres, attending the festival, or simply decorating your tree with loved ones, my hope is that you’ll experience the joy and warmth of “Christmas as it’s meant to be.”
I am so excited for all that’s in store this holiday season and can’t wait to celebrate with you. Let’s make this Christmas our most memorable one yet!
Merry Christmas and blessings to you and your family,
Candace Cameron Bure
