Dynamic Duo Brittany Underwood & Jonathan Stoddard Star in 'A Royal Christmas Ballet’

When it comes to family friendly rom coms, there are certain duos that just have an undeniable chemistry that delivers film after film. Brittany Underwood and Jonathan Stoddard are one of those duos.

The stars of “A Royal Christmas Ballet,” which is now streaming on Pure Flix, have filmed four movies together thus far. And it just so happens that their most recent film was also their favorite!

“I would say this one was just the best because we know each other so well at this point. And there's almost like this unspoken language between us,” Brittany revealed in a recent interview. “We’re super bonded and just like synced in and so I just felt like we were the strongest team we’ve been on any of our movies so far.”

“There were a number of things that I feel like really united us and unified us in a way where we were on set, we were doing a lot of supporting and helping each other through things, but then after, we would hang out. We were decompressing,” Jonathan added. “We would talk about the script, like we were really diving in throughout the entire thing. It was great.”

In “A Royal Christmas Ballet,” a retired ballerina named Carrie (Underwood) is pressed into service working with a visiting team of royal ambassadors to put on the season’s performance of “The Nutcracker,” and finds herself center stage in an unexpected Christmas romance with Prince William of Veidberg (Stoddard).

And while the focus is definitely on romance, the dancing is also a huge part of the movie. In fact, Brittany even took lessons to prepare for the film.

“She had to learn an entire five-minute set, very last minute, of ballet. It's not like what, this is a two-step that we're gonna learn. This is technique,” said Jonathan, who Brittany noted was key to helping her through some of the tougher moments on set.

“I was really sore from doing the ballet, practices, rehearsals and all of that. And Jonathan just came out of nowhere and just took care of me,” Brittany said. “It was like, ‘Do you need water? Do you need to rehearse with the other dancer? Let me bring him to set for you.’ [He] was just such a great partner and that meant so much to me and I just really felt so supported.”

Be sure to stream “A Royal Christmas Ballet” on Great American Pure Flix which is now available. And if you’re itching to see more of Brittany and Jonathan’s chemistry, stream “A Royal Christmas Holiday,” right here on Pure Flix!
