Get to Know Great American Star Julia Reilly

When it comes to ensemble casts, Julia Reilly knows a thing or two. The 24-year-old breakout star of the Great American Original series “County Rescue” is also part of the very first ensemble cast for a Great American Christmas film in “A Little Women’s Christmas,” which will premiere on Pure Flix Thanksgiving Day.

But, did you know that this young star was on the hit series “Stranger Things” at one time? Take a minute to read on and get to know this young and upcoming actress who has been an incredible addition to the Great American Family!

Like Family

“A Little Women’s Christmas” is a modern retelling of the classic story, following Jo March as she returns home to celebrate Christmas with sisters Meg, Beth and Amy. Reilly plays Amy, the youngest March sister, in the film and said the ensemble cast made working on her first Christmas film one of the most fun learning experiences she’s had.

“It is so special to be a part of a Great American Family Christmas movie for the first time. Everyone has just been like a real family amongst all the cast and crew and these girls have felt like sisters on and off set. It has just been such a blessing and a joy, and I’ve had the best time working with everyone,” she said.

“I love getting to play sisters with Jen [Lilley, who plays Meg] and Laura [Osnes, who plays Beth] and Jillian [Murray, who plays Jo],” she added. “They’re such pros. They’ve done a lot of Christmas movies, so I have just gotten to learn so much from everyone.”

Living Out Her Faith Onscreen

Building relationships onscreen and off is something Reilly has plenty of experience with thanks to her work on “County Rescue.” Season two of the show is currently in production with all 11 original cast members returning, including Reilly, who plays a young EMT named Dani.

The show tells the story of the unique challenges EMTs and paramedics face on their personal, professional, and even spiritual journeys. And for Reilly, having the chance to live out her faith onscreen is one of the highlights of being a part of the show.

“It was such a cool experience and the biggest God thing ever to work on a show where faith is such an important aspect of my character because I’m going to work and I’m constantly reminded to be present in my faith because that’s my job,” she said.

“But that’s also our job as followers of Christ in life and so if anything, I can honestly say that playing Dani and working on this show has helped me to grow in my own faith and in my relationship with the Lord in my own life so I’m excited to continue that journey.”

Season two of “County Rescue” is expected to premiere in January 2025. While we can’t currently reveal too much, the second season will have six episodes and will pick up where the first season left off.
